Though Mumbaikars are eagerly waiting for the Maharashtra Housing And Area Development Authority (MHADA) lottery, the latter is in no mood to publish the ad of the same. The wait is long but at the same time, there is good news for Mumbaikars and Konkan residents as the Konkan Housing and Area Development Board, Mumbai — Regional Unit of MHADA — will be releasing the lottery of 3300 houses in Virai-Bolinj area.

The Konkan Housing and Area Development Board is building approximately 10,000 houses in Virar-Bolinj area which is considered to be the ambitious and biggest project in MHADA’s history. These houses will be available only for low-income-group and middle-income-group.

Prior to this, 6,000 constructed houses of which 1,716 houses were released in June 2014, 4,275 houses in February 2016. Currently, the Konkan Housing and Area Development Board is busy handing over the flat’s possession.

Construction of the remaining 3300 houses has been completed making way for MHADA’s lottery which will be available only for low-income-groups.

When Mumbai Live spoke to the Konkan Housing and Area Development Board chief Vijay Lahane, he said that 3300 houses are ready and they are also planning to release the lottery but the date was not fixed. He added that the board is also planning to raise the number of houses from 3300 to 4000 which will be made available in areas other than Virar.
