Coronavirus: Here's how Mumbai Metro is planning to create awareness

As the fear of the coronavirus grips the country, Mumbai Metro has decided to do its bit by creating awareness and also to make sure that the virus does not spread. To ensure the same Mumbai Metro organised a sanitisation drive, where the ticket counters, metro coaches and even the toilets were sanitised. The Metro One authority informed that they made use of fumes to sanitize the toilets and other critical areas.

Mumbai Metro witnesses high footfall and nearly 4.5 lakh commuters use this on a daily basis. Hence the authorities are taking extra measures to make sure that hygiene is maintained on the stations and in the coaches. As a part of the preventive measures, the authority has informed that they will be cleaning the rakes and sanitising after every round of trips and deep cleaning each rake during the night time.

Mumbai Metro One Pvt Limited (MMOPL) is also trying to spread awareness among its employees and commuters so that they are aware of the dos and don’ts for coronavirus (CONVID-19) and urging them to maintain hygiene at all times. They are also running a campaign to ensure that there is no panic amongst the employees.

Currently, the number of people infected in India has climbed to 42, with three new positive cases coming positive. The three new cases have been reported in Delhi, J&K and Uttar Pradesh. So far, there has been no positive case in Mumbai and the city authorities are trying their best to ensure that they are able to maintain these numbers.
