The 520 km Nagpur-Shirdi highway from Mumbai to Nagpur Samriddhi Highway has been put into service and is getting good response from the passengers. Now the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has increased the speed of work on the Shirdi to Mumbai phase and accordingly the work of the 80 km highway from Shirdi to Bharveer is in its final stage. 

MMRDC plans to complete this work in March and open this phase to traffic by the end of March. If this phase is put into service, it will be possible to complete the journey from Nagpur to Nashik in 5 to 5.5 hours.

Samriddhi Highway from Mumbai to Nagpur

The MSRDC is constructing 701 km Samriddhi Highway from Mumbai to Nagpur. In December 2022, the 520 km highway from Nagpur to Shirdi was thrown open for public. One can travel at a speed of 120 km per hour on this highway. Hence it is possible to complete the distance from Nagpur to Shirdi in just five hours. Anil Kumar Gaikwad, Joint Managing Director of MSRDC informed that it was decided to put the 80 km stretch from Shirdi to Bharveer into service in March. 


MSRDC has decided to start the Samriddhi Highway in phases. According to Gaikwad, the Bharvir to Igatpuri highway is planned to be started by June after the Shirdi to Bharveer section is put into service by the end of March.
