On Monday, forest department sought time of four weeks to submit documents and maps to the Green Tribunal. As petitioner objected to it, the tribunal gave time of only 10 days to the forest department to furnish the required papers, informed one of the petitioners, Stalin Dayanand.
The environmentalists have approached the Green Tribunal against construction of car shed and other construction works of the Metro-3 project. They had sought information on how much and what type of forest land is there in the city. The apathetic attitude of forest department authorities has put them under suspicion.

Meanwhile, the MMRC has started construction work in Aarey Unit 19 in police security. Another interesting thing noticed is that the MMRC officials and their lawyer were absent during this hearing in the Green Tribunal.
