Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway: INR 1,212 Toll For One-Way Trip

With the distance between the two cities being 701 km, it has been claimed that the toll will be charged following the kilometres one wishes to travel.

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is constructing India's longest access-controlled expressway between Mumbai and Nagpur. According to reports, it has proposed a one-way toll of INR 1,212 for light motor vehicles that include cars and jeeps. 

With the distance between the two cities being 701 km, it has been claimed that the toll will be charged in accordance with the kilometres one wishes to travel. If one is travelling between Mumbai and Nashik or Aurangabad, motors will be charged INR 1.73 per km. 

The body hopes to open the Nagpur-Aurangabad section of the expressway by March or April 2022 and the entire section by the end of the year. Based on the toll rates list, the second category is a light commercial vehicle, light goods vehicle or minibus for which the one-way toll between Mumbai and Nagpur will be INR 2.79 per km that comes to INR 1,955, remarked accounts.

The third category is bus and truck (two-axle) for which the charge is INR 5.85 per km which comes to INR 4,100. The heavy vehicles category includes three-axle commercial vehicles for which the charge is INR 6.38 per km or INR 4,472. 

This is trailed by mobilising of heavy construction machinery at INR 9.18 per km or INR 6,435. Lastly, for oversized motors or multi axles (seven or more axles) the toll for a kilometre is INR 11.17 that is INR 7,830 between Mumbai and Nagpur. 

It has been reported that the complete stretch between Mumbai and Nagpur will have 26 toll booths. Additionally, narratives claim that the MSRDC has floated bids for appointing an agency for the collection of tools on the expressway.
