Soon, devotees visiting Mahalakshmi temple in south Mumbai will be able to enjoy the walkway and gardens that are being constructed parallel to the coastal road. The devotees will be able to take a stroll enjoying the sea view from the temple’s back gate which will be kept open for devotees. 

The work on the pathway from the back gate is in progress and will be completed soon, an official shared exclusively with the Free Press Journal.

16 underpasses have been laid out for pedestrians and one of them is at Haji Ali, under the coastal road project. As per the officials, an underpass below the coastal road has been constructed which will help people to reach the Haji Ali dargah. He said the project authorities will give another underpass to pedestrians for access to Mahalakshmi temple.

As per the civic body, the project will help people commute swiftly between Princess street and Bandra Worli Sea Link as the travel time will come down to less than 10 minutes, which otherwise takes 35-45 minutes during peak hour.
