Residents moving in their flats after redevelopment welcomed the new decision entailed in the circular issued by N Ramaswamy, Inspector General of Registration (IGR) and Controller of Stamps. The circular states that flat owners can save up to Rs 1 lakh. The biggest beneficiaries will be redevelopment projects in Mulund, Ghatkopar, Kandivali, Borivali and Andheri. The flat owners will have to pay only Rs 100 as stamp duty informed Ramesh Prabhu, Maharashtra Societies Welfare Association.
