A petition has been filed in the Bombay High Court (HC) against Konkan Housing & Area Development Board, a wing of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), of reserving houses that belong to Economic-Weaker-Section (EWS) and low-income-group (LIG) for former and current MPs and MLAs.

The hearing will take place in two weeks. On August 19, 2018, the Konkan Board will be releasing the lottery for 9018 houses.

Mitesh Varshneya petitioner pointed out in the petition that houses which belong to LIG and EWS are reserved for former MLAs and MPs when houses which belong to HIG should be reserved for the same.
