The work on the integrated Vashi bus terminus is anticipated to be finished by April 2023. The project is hoped to turn the loss-making Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) body into a self-sustaining entity, reported the Hindustan Times.

Additionally, it will also accommodate a commercial complex that has attained the necessary permission and thus the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) commissioner, Abhijit Bhangar has asked that in a timely manner the project be done and that the activity be finished by April 2023 as slated.

For the project, across a 10,373 sqm land, a 21-storey building is being made, at the back of which will be a bus terminus. This will be equipped with 13 bus stops and a four-storey parking amenity. Moreover, there will be five electrical charging points, as well as, shops with high ceilings, spaces for office and an area has also been set aside for a restaurant.

Based on the report, Bangar has asked that comprises not be made of the materials tested at the testing laboratory. In order to save electricity, he has asked that solar panels also be put up at the bus stop shed. According to the account, Bangar elaborated on how this project will make NMMT, self-sustaining.
