According to the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2021-22, two schools of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) featured in the India Top 10 Government Day Schools. Namely, these schools were the Worli Seaface Mumbai Public English School and Mumbai Public School, Poonam Nagar, Jogeshwari (E).
On the other hand, according to Maharashtra Tourism Minister, Aaditya Thackeray, the Mumbai Public School, Worli is ranked 1st in Maharashtra and 5th in India. Moreover, the MPS Poonam Nagar CBSE is ranked 2nd in Maharashtra and 10th in India.
Thackeray, took to Twitter to appreciate the civic body’s education department’s efforts to ensure that this feat was achieved.

Apart from these, even the Kendriya Vidyalaya- IIT Powai, Mumbai made it to the list.
Recently, with the reopening of schools for grades 8-12, the civic authority brought in comprehensive guidelines to ensure that students are offered a safe environment that augments their learning experience.
Additionally, earlier in August, an initiative named Project Samarth and Project Oorja was commenced to ensure the overall development of students, as well as, teachers in civic-run schools.

On the one hand, Project Oorja looked to curate an improvement in the mental-wellbeing of students and teachers by integrating mental health into the curriculum. Similarly, Project Samarth sought to upskill civic teachers through training workshops.
