Adding another victory to their side, title favourites U Mumba thrashed Dabang Delhi 44-19 in a one-sided match on December 11 at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Continuing their winning streak, U Mumba saw an all-round effort as its raiders and defenders put a victorious show at the match against Delhi in the Pro Kabaddi League 2018 (PKL).

Siddharth Desai (12 points) and Rohit Baliyan (8 points) made an impact in raid department whereas captain Fazel Atrachali got a high five and alongside, Surender Singh was excellent as the defender with four points. On the other hand, the home team struggled to get going against a tough opposition and one of their crucial players, Meraj Sheykh failed to get off the mark.

However, Dabang Delhi still are in the competition for a place in the playoffs. The match began on a positive note for U Mumba after Rohit got them off to a quick start with two raids in two minutes which put them in a 4-1 lead. However, only Chandran Ranjit was able to pick up a couple of raid points and no other raider from Dabang Delhi was able to get going. It was the Dabangs’ defence that kept their spirits up in the first half.

U Mumba managed to inflict the first all out of the match in the 16th minute to lead 16-8. As the team went into the break, U Mumba were leading 19-11 against Delhi owing to their impressive first-half display. While at a point Dabang Delhi were on equal footing, U Mumba outplayed the opponents and inflicted two all outs by the end of the second half which helped them register a comfortable 44-19 win.
