As many of us are planning our summer holidays, most of us dread motion sickness or travel sickness. There is always one or more people who suffers from motion sickness and throws up while travelling in a bus or four wheeler. However, what exactly causes one to feel nauseated?

According to Dr. B P Tyagi, many people may experience vomiting, discomfort, dizziness and nausea while travelling, especially when travelling in a four-wheeler. The main reason for this is motion sickness. When you look out the window while travelling, your ears, eyes, and skin are simultaneously sending different signals to your brain. Because of this, there is a risk of confusion in the nervous system.

Not only this, even if you are reading something or looking at a mobile phone while travelling, the coordination of the brain and organs can be disrupted.

Do this when you feel like vomiting

  • If you suffer from persistent nausea, ginger, amla betel nut or peppermint mouth fresheners can ease your discomfort. So carry these things with you, especially on long journeys.

  • Before travelling, roast the cloves and grind them with some salt. This mixture can be a great remedy in stopping nausea.

  • Avoid travelling on an empty stomach. If you don't want to eat something heavy, you can also eat fruits. An empty stomach can increase acid.

  • You can consume lemon, cold drinks, ginger or mint.

  • Avoid sitting in the back seat.

Dr. B P Tyagi says that we should keep the body hydrated. Many people drink less water because they are worried about not having to urinate while travelling. But this can cause problems.
