Dreams fueled by a vision

Juhu- On Tuesday, the Iskcon auditorium at Juhu was filled with overwhelmed admiration as 40 talented young girls strode the catwalk confidently. ‘Visually impaired' they may be called medically, but their confidence and ambition were at par with any other. This was an initiative by Blinds Dream and the National Association of Blind. Filmmaker Satish Kaushik, along with TV actors, were present at the event to encourage the participants. Models walking the ramp ...media interactions…celebrity judges. It looks like any other beauty pageant but this one is different as the models participating in this event are special, as they are visually challenged, but their confidence, their grit and talent is mesmerising and inspiring too. This pageant was organised by Blinds Dream, an NGO in association with the National Association of Blind. 40 girls aged between 18 and 30, from Chandigarh, Pune, Goa and Ludhiana participated in this event. Out of these, 15 will be shortlisted for the finale which is to be held in January 2017 in Mumbai.
