Man on a mission - youth cycles across country for environment conservation

Dadar – There is no dearth of NGOs fighting for the cause of environment. But a resident of Telangana has taken up a unique drive for environment conservation. This man has been travelling from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on a bicycle. 

Ravikiran Badola is the name of this environment conservationist who has been travelling across the country on the amount he saved and loan he got from banks. Badola quit his engineering job to take up this cause. He reached Mumbai on Thursday.

Ravikiran wants to complete his journey in 100 days and his destination is Jammu and Kashmir where he wants to reach by April 30. He has covered a distance of 2,700 km till now and he will march on to Ahmedabad on March 3. The expected expenditure of his journey is around Rs 2 to 2.5 lakh. All he is carrying with him is a bicycle, medical aid kit, a small amount of money, shawl and a water bottle.

During his journey, Ravikiran visits local schools along the road and explains the need for environment conservation to students. He says that environment conservation is the only way to save the country from natural disasters like tsunami and earthquakes.
