Shoppers alert! Mumbai’s own shopping fest is going to hit the city in 2018!

Towing the lines of the Dubai fest, this fest will have big discounts and entertainment events

Shoppers alert! Mumbai’s own shopping fest is going to hit the city in 2018!

For the first time ever, Mumbai is going to host a shopping festival at the onset of the new year from January 12 to 30 owing to the plans of the Maharashtra government of attracting tourists to the city. The Dubai festival is believed to be the muse for the organisation of a similar fest in Mumbai.

What is the fest going to be like?

There will be discounts on known brands and hotels as well as shopping streets at designated areas, like Fort, open till late night during the fest.

Concessions will be offered to the shoppers. Known brands, malls, and showrooms have already agreed to the terms of the officials who are now in the process of finalising modalities, just like it happens in Dubai.

The festival will strive to be on par with international events. To facilitate more flow of population into the city, hotels, airlines, and restaurants are likely to offer noteworthy discounts to the people during the fest. State tourism minister Jaykumar Rawal emphasizes that the aim is to provide world-class facilities at discounted rates by getting a grasp of everything - traveling, accommodation and food, as well as shopping and moving around the city.

What more?

The State Government will also hold special music shows featuring popular artists at the signature tourist destinations such as The Gateway of India and Girgaum Chowpatty. Several theatres in the city will also screen special shows of blockbuster movies at reasonable rates.

The minister is sure that it is going to be a unique experience for Mumbaikars as well as the tourists. The idea is simple, to come to Mumbai and soak in the entire combination of its delicacies, tourist spots, and shopping hubs while availing discounts everywhere you go.

So shoppers, gear up for this festival! It’s an exciting chance to shop away to your heart’s content!
