In this regard, when fitness coach Diksha Chhabra suggested taking a detox drink at the beginning of the day, a question arose as to whether it is really necessary.


”Start the day with a glass of detox drink. Such as “green tea, warm lemon water, cumin-seed water, ginger water soaked overnight, water mixed with cucumber or lemon,” says Diksha Chhabra in a post shared by Diksha Chhabra. A good morning routine will promote your health and help you have a better day. From avoiding social media to drinking a detox drink and listening to music while exercising and then having a good post-workout meal and snacks, you can have a productive or energetic day,” says Chhabra.

So, we reached out to some experts to find out if you should start your day with detox or herbal drinks. The senior dietician of Narayana Multispeciality Hospital in Jaipur, Dr. Sonal Bhatnagar says, "Whether or not herbal drinks should be included in the morning routine depends on personal preferences and goals.”

“Herbal drinks, such as herbal teas or infusions, are consumed for their potential health benefits and as a way of refreshing the start of the day. But, the decision to include them in your morning routine is ultimately a personal choice and depends on various factors of one's lifestyle," Dr. Bhatnagar has said.


Herbal drinks have many health benefits

According to Dr Bhatnagar, herbal drinks have various health benefits, including hydration, relaxation, or potential health benefits associated with specific herbs. “For example, green tea is often used for its antioxidant properties, while chamomile tea is known for its calming properties. Some people find that adding herbal drinks to their morning routine helps them feel more energetic or healthier," Dr. Bhatnagar explained.

But, note that the effectiveness and specific benefits of herbal drinks may vary depending on the individual and the particular herb consumed. Some people may experience positive results, while others may not notice any significant changes.

There are many benefits of drinking warm water and consuming it on an empty stomach increases the benefits, says registered dietician Garima Goyal. “Drinking warm water is a great way to detox the body; Because it removes accumulated toxins and food residues from the intestines and removes toxins from the body. Adding lemon juice to warm water gives it a dose of vitamin C and potassium, a great way to boost immunity,” said Goyal.
