Mumbai: Marathi Film Director Swapnil Mayekar passes away at the age of 46

Swapnil Mayekar, the debutant writer-director of the upcoming Marathi film 'Marathi Paul Padte Pudhe', passed away early on Thursday. He was ill for the past few days. He was 46 years old at the time of his death. His first directed and written film 'Marathi Paul Padte Pudhe’ is releasing on May 5. Swapnil is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Earlier, Swapnil Mayekar worked as an assistant director for the serial 'Ha Khel Sanchitancha'. Apart from that, he had also directed a Bhojpuri film. In his first directed and written film 'Marathi Paul Padte Pudhe', a young man from a farming family in Khandesh comes to Mumbai to become a businessman. Swapnil has tried to present his struggle story in this film through his writing and direction.
