Mumbai’s budding rap quartet mentored by multi-platinum rap star DIVINE, Aavrutti will be unveiling their maiden hip hop album titled ‘Naya Zamana’ today across all major streaming platforms in association with Mass Appeal India and Gully Gang Entertainment.

Birthing the concept of the avant-garde, the hypnotic album aspires to herald the arrival of the future rap ensemble in the burgeoning Indian hip-hop scene. The young lyrical marksmen deliver a lyrically fluid, relay race of an album which sees each affiliate pass on the sonic baton to the other gliding, through seven free-flowing tracks with rapid-fire lyrics and metallic knuckling beats. The soundscape is judiciously executed by all the four members - Saifan, Sammohit, Sledge and Frenzzy with each member lapping up the spotlight on their respective solo renditions as seen in Kaidi 420, Yaara, Rani Baugh, Dime.

While the album's title refers to new-age, there's much to suggest that it's also a search for a golden mean, some way to strike a balance between character and chaos. Switching flows and keeping a foot in both modern trap and hip-hop as much as they do classic boom-bap, Aavrutti divulges tales of hustle, materialism, mindsets and struggle mixed with aggressive storytelling and stellar production by Karan Kanchan, Xplicit and Stunnah Beatz.

Talking about the new track and the initial thoughts behind the same, the band said, "Our Initial Plan for the album was something else. We Had Some Fun Things Planned Around the album Release But because of the COVID Situation It got Difficult to go ahead with it."

On being asked about the Naya Zamana, they added, "Naya Zamana means New Wave. The New Generation Coming Out Of Our Country we were the voice of the youth. Depends on the zone, what type of track It Is, sometimes It takes just 20 minutes to write a verse sometimes. At times, it takes a very long time and efforts."

Sharing the experience of being mentored by Divine and Gully Gang, the band mentioned, "It's Great To Have Someone Like (DIVINE) With Us, every time We Meet Him We Get Something More To Learn, He is the Main face and Inspiration to the Indian Hip-hop Scene and also a great human being."

Emphasising on the challenges hip-hop artists are facing today, the band said, "a lot of challenges come in front of an artist and not just hip hop. One of the biggest is that people still judge an artist for his numbers. We are trying to give quality music in the scene."

Having created some worthwhile flutter with the release of the tracks ‘Stage’ and ‘Error 404’, as well as previously released music, features over the last two-three years, this young quartet of rappers from the underground scene delivers a flavour to their compositions and performance that's diverse from what we've witnessed within the fastest growing music genre of India.

Bringing a close to the year with Naya Zamana, the next year will see them take their talent worldwide!
