The Supreme Court on Wednesday, August 19, has given a nod for the investigation to be conducted by CBI. The Supreme Court has further asked the Mumbai Police to cooperate with the CBI during the investigation.

As a reaction to the same, Parth Pawar - the grand-nephew of Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar and son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar - tweeted: 'Satyameva Jayate'.

While this matter was being debated, the junior-most Pawar had demanded a CBI probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. This demand by Parth had led to speculations that there was a row within the Pawar family.

Soon after the statement was made, the eldest member of the family, NCP chief publically called Parth “immature. Talking to the media, Sharad Pawar said, “Parth has less experience. He is immature. I don’t give any importance to what he has said. I have known the Maharashtra and Mumbai Police for 50 years. I have 100 per cent faith in them.”

This was later followed by plenty of meeting between the family meetings, which included NCP MP Supriya Sule meeting her cousin, Ajit Pawar, at Mantralaya. She, however, had claimed that the meeting was in connection with the public works in her Lok Sabha constituency of Baramati.

Parth too met his grandfather on August 13, Thursday. The meeting took place at the NCP supero’s residence in Mumbai and lasted for over two hours. Post the meeting both the Pawars did not issue a statement or share the topic of their conversation.

On June 14, 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. As per Mumbai Police the actor had committed suicide. In connection with the case, the Mumbai police, till date, has questioned 56 people which includes, Mahesh Bhatt, Aditya Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Apoorva Mehta, Rajeev Masand, in connection with the actor's death.
