A day after the MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s ultimatum on the usage of loudspeakers in mosques, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday, April 13, said that he should not be given much importance.

“Raj Thackeray must not be given so much importance, when the right time comes, I'll surely answer on it, I've the answer for every question,” Pawar said while talking to reporters.

Later in the day, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar said that the state government should think about Raj Thackeray’s ultimatum seriously. However, the third front is not possible without Congress. Meanwhile, it's time to speak on inflation and unemployment but no one speaks on it.

Besides, it has come to light that a case has been registered against Raj Thackeray under Arms Act at Naupada Police Station in Thane for raising a sword at an event. Moreover, Avinash Jadhav and Ravindra More have also been booked.

On the other hand, lashing out at the opposition parties in the state, Shiv Sena leader Sanjya Raut said that there is no need to teach us anything about Hindutva. It is in Shiv Sena's blood, it flows in Shiv Sena's veins. Whenever Hindutva has been attacked, BJP was not in front at that time. We were there, Balasaheb Thackeray was there, there was Uddhav Thackeray.

On Tuesday, April 12, Thackeray reiterated its warning to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) to shut loudspeakers in mosques till May 3, claiming that they cause a nuisance to others.

He also hinted for a state wide protests if the government fails to remove loudspeakers from mosques by May 3. He repeatedly threatened of playing 'Hanuman Chalisa' outside mosques if his demands weren't met.

“Hold meetings with all the Maulavis and remove loudspeakers from the mosques. After May 3, Hanuman Chalisa will be played outside any mosque that has loudspeakers,” Thackeray said at a rally in Thane.

Additionally, Thackeray appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to raid the mosques in the Muslim areas in Mumbai and said that the people living there are “Pakistani supporters”.

Thackeray first made the demand for removing loudspeakers from mosques at a gathering at Shivaji Park on April 2 on Gudi Padwa. The demand drew flak from various quarters and many of MNS’s own workers, including party’s former Pune city chief Vasant More, opposed the move.
