There have been violent incidents at many places in the state regarding Maratha reservation. Along with this, there is also a demand to call a special session of the Legislative Assembly in Maharashtra for Maratha reservation. A meeting of all the parties has been called by the state government on Wednesday. In this meeting, along with Maratha reservation, the special session will also be discussed.


As protests intensified in the state, internet services remained suspended in Jalna while MSRTC bus services were suspended in five Marathwada districts. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said officials have identified 50 to 55 people who were involved in violent activities in different parts of the state during the ongoing Maratha quota agitation, and said the culprits will face strict action.

Police have beefed up security at the ministry, the residences of the chief minister, ministers and other politicians as well as the offices of political parties in Mumbai and elsewhere in Maharashtra.


During a press conference, Manoj Jarange Patil urged a special assembly session to announce reservation for the Maratha community.
