After Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Raosaheb Danve was inducted in the newly formed Union cabinet, the party is searching for its new Maharashtra unit President. The prominent names for the position include state Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil, state Irrigation Minister Girish Mahajan, Pankaja Munde and Babanrao Lonikar.
Under the leadership of Danve, BJP has witnessed a major victory in the recent Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. Thus, it becomes necessary to find a suitable replacement ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The state chief will play an important role in order to maintain the winning stature of the BJP in the upcoming state assembly polls.
Along with the high profile leaders, BJP leaders such as Ashish Shelar (Mumbai BJP President), state General Secretary Sujit Singh can also be the potential state President of the BJP. The appointment for the new BJP President of Maharashtra is expected to happen in the coming month.
