Finally, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Ram Kadam has apologised for the controversial statement made during Dahi Handi festival on Monday night. It is believed that Kadam apologised after the State Women's Commission intervened. Kadam has apologised via Twitter.

Two days after the incident, the State Women's Commission Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar intervened and sent a notice to Kadam asking him to revert in eight days. In between, many other political parties slammed him for his statement against women.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Women's Wing Chief Vidya Chavan carried out a protest rally on Wednesday outside Kadam's residence. They not only shouted slogans but also condemned him for his careless statement. Along with this, angry party workers vandalised his poster by smearing black ink on it.
