Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Raosaheb Danve Patil on Tuesday said that his party respects the Supreme Court’s decision on Maharashtra government formation to conduct the floor test in the state assembly on November 27.

While talking to the media after SC’s verdict was announced, Danve Patil said that BJP MLAs will meet tonight around 9:00 PM at Wankhede Stadium and will prove majority.

I respect the Supreme Court’s decision and we will surely prove our majority. All BJP MLAs will meet at Garware Club in Mumbai tonight at 9:00 PM,” said Patil.

In its order, the Supreme Court ruled that the oath ceremony of MLAs shall be conducted by 5:00 PM tomorrow followed by the floor-test. The floor test will be conducted by protem speaker through the open ballot and will be live telecast.

Earlier on Monday evening, the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena carried out a public parade of their 162 supporting MLAs to shatter claims made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ajit Pawar

As this happened, BJP’s Ashish Shelar slammed the three parties for organising the identification parade and said that this was an insult of the elected MLAs.

In a surprise twist, BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis on November 23 took oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar became Deputy Chief Minister.

However, as this happened, NCP chief Sharad Pawar clarified that it was Ajit Pawar’s decision to join hands with the BJP and not NCP’s.

The three parties then headed to the Supreme Court and submitted a petition demanding immediate floor-test.
