In a major judgement, Supreme Court of India on Tuesday ordered to carry out floor test for Maharashtra government formation on November 27.

A three-judge bench comprising of Justices NV Ramana, Ashok Bhushan and Sanjiv Khanna deliver their order stating that the Maharashtra floor-test.

The apex court directed that the floor test will be conducted through the open ballot and not secret. The bench ruled for a floor test by a pro-tem speaker and the same will be live telecast.

Supreme Court directed that the oath ceremony of the legislators shall be conducted by 5:00 PM tomorrow followed by the floor-test.

While reading the order, Justice NV Ramana said, “this court has been called upon to maintain principles o parliamentary democracy and protect rights of citizens of good governance.”

Talking about the constitutional morality on Constitution Day, the apex court cited the Uttarakhand ruling and the Bihar Jagdambika Pal case.
