BJP MP demands Bandra Terminus to be named after Bal Thackeray

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Poonam Mahajan on Friday demanded to rename Bandra Terminus in the name of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray. Regarding this, Mahajan met Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and wrote a letter demanding the name to be changed as “Hinduhridye Samrat Shiv Sena Pramukh Mananiye Balasaheb Thackrey Terminus”.

Mahajan proposed this, earlier in 2017, to the railway minister and sent the proposal to state government. Maharashtra government has agreed to this and has sent the proposal to Railway Ministry. Mahajan also wrote that Bandra Terminus falls under her constituency and thus, she wants the name of the station to be changed.
