Speaking at the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony, Amit Shah called it a historic and auspicious day for BJP workers, describing the party office as a “temple” for its members.
“Today marks a new beginning for the Maharashtra BJP. Since the founding of our party, every worker has considered the office as sacred as a temple. For others, it may just be a building, but for us, it represents our principles and service to the nation,” Shah said.
He further emphasised that from the days of Jana Sangh to 2025, the BJP has consistently based its politics on principles and worked for the welfare of the people. “No one can now deny the BJP’s strong presence in Maharashtra’s political landscape,” he added, extending best wishes to party workers on the occasion.
The upcoming state office will include a library, six meeting rooms, a conference hall, a 400-seat auditorium, and offices for the state president and Chief Minister. Arrangements have also been made for temporary accommodation for party workers.
Amit Shah said that BJP offices across India are symbols of service and public welfare, and Maharashtra’s new office continues that tradition.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, in his address, said the party had long sought a suitable office space in Mumbai. “We were determined to find a private and affordable space instead of relying on government land. Manoj Kotak helped identify this location, and despite several challenges, we managed to secure it,” he said.
Responding to critics, Fadnavis remarked, “Some people have raised questions about this property. I want to tell them that the Bharatiya Janata Party does not live in a glass house so don’t try to throw stones at us.”
