Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda recently attacked the three-party Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra and told the party workers to ensure that the saffron party comes to power in the state “on its own strength”.

While speaking at the first executive meeting of BJP’s state unit from Delhi, Nadda asked the party workers to highlight the “failures” of the Uddhav Thackeray government before people in tackling the COVID-19 situation.

Attacking the MVA government, Nadda said that the state government has completely failed to handle the situation created due to the coronavirus outbreak. This should be highlighted before the people, he added.

“The Maharashtra government has completely failed to cope up with the situation created by the Corona. The party workers should highlight these failures of the state government effectively before the people. In the future, the workers should be active in solving the problems of the common man,”  the BJP president asserted.

Nadda said that the MVA government was an unholy alliance which worked for “selfish interests and profit”. The three-party alliance in Maharashtra is full of internal contradictions, he added.

“We should work to highlight the failures of the state government and ensure that BJP comes back to power on its own strength in the future,” the BJP chief said.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Devendra Fadnavis also attacked the MVA government and said that it has completely failed to handle COVID-19 situation in the state.

“Despite repeated suggestions to increase the number of tests in Mumbai, the government has ignored the suggestions. The people are being hit hard because of the negative approach of the government,” Fadnavis said.

Maharashtra BJP President Chandrakant Patil reiterated that the failures of the state government should be exposed by the party workers.

The meeting was held on Monday via video conference and was attended by Patil, Fadnavis, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, among other top leaders and office-bearers of the party.
