BJP-Sena to initiate sweet talks after Sankrant?

Mumbai - The official word on an alliance is not yet out, and now it appears both the BJP and Shiv Sena will reserve their decision till the festival of Makar Sankrant concludes this weekend.
The BJP had forwarded its formal proposal for an alliance to the Sena last week. However, not many top level meetings to take the talks further have taken place. Sources say both parties are now waiting for Sankrant to get over so that talks can begin on 15 January.
The entire burden of the negotiations will be on the number of seats the BJP will ask for from the Sena to contest the civic polls. Currently, the BJP has 18 MLAs from Mumbai while Shiv Sena has 13. Both parties have three MPs each hailing from Mumbai. The BJP is in a mood to ask for more seats this time, but the Sena is not in the mood to relent.
