After ordering a judicial probe, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday directed the administration to suspend all activities related to the sale of City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) authorised land in Navi Mumbai.

This decision comes after the CM, in the Maharashtra Assembly monsoon session, announced a judicial probe into the CIDCO land scam alleged by Congress.

In the assembly on Thursday, Opposition leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil demanded the Chief Minister to resign on moral grounds. Earlier in a press conference on July 2, Former CM Prithviraj Chavan and Mumbai Congress President along with Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala alleged current government sold ₹1700 crore in ₹3.5 crore by cheating eight-displaced families due to Koyna Dam.

Nirupam said that this scam has happened with the help of the Chief Minister and BJP MLC Prasad Lad, claiming that the builder, to whom the land was sold, is Lad's business partner.

Reacting to this, Lad had issued a legal notice against Nirupam and Chavan asking them to withdraw their statements and apologise. Failing to do so, will invite a ₹500 crore defamation case against the duo, said Lad.
