On July 28, a meeting was held for Maratha reservation by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis which consisted of all the party leaders. In the meeting, the CM ordered the Director General of Police (DGP) to penalise the protesters that committed serious crimes during the Kranti Morcha but withdraw the mild offences. He also stated that a special session will be held just for the Maratha reservation after the State Backward Class Commission's (SBCC) report arrives.
CM Fadnavis also stated that all the political parties need to forget the rivalry and work together in the welfare of the Maratha community. Also, the SBCC’s report is pending and as soon as it is presented before the CM, he has promised to hold a special session for the issue of Maratha reservation.

So far, five MLAs of Maharashtra had offered their resignation regarding the demand for Maratha reservation. Bharat Bhalke (Congress), Rahul Aher (BJP) and Dattatray Bharane (NCP) recently offered the resignation. Before this, Harshvardhan Jadhav from Shiv Sena and NCP’s Bhausaheb Patil Chikatgaonkar had offered to resign on demand for Maratha reservation.
