Bhandup - Inauguration of the massive tunnel which will collect all the water below the ground at a point was done on Thursday. The underground tunnel is in two parts, one is from Gundavali (near Bhiwandi) to Kapurbawdi (Thane) and the other from Kapurbawdi to Bhandup. CM Devendra fadnavis inaugurated the tunnel in the presence of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, State Education Minister Vinod Tawde, Mayor Snehal Ambekar, Yuva Sena Chief Aditya Thackeray and other dignitaries. The project will prove to be a boon for the city as water is brought from the source to Bhandup plant through a network. BMC has indeed done a stupendous job in constructing this tunnel. "We are doing loads of development works in Bhandup, not likewise Ex-MP Sanjay Dina Patil who is alleged in firing the gun at Nawab Malik", said Devendra Fadnavis.
