On Wednesday, February 2, the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) workers gathered and raised slogans outside Mumbai’s Dadar railway station while staging a protest against the Pegasus spyware issue.

According to reports, Srinivas BV, IYC President remarked that the IYC had called for a nationwide protest in state capitals on Wednesday over the said issue.

It has been reported that Congress started the agitation by taking an aggressive stance on this issue. Narratives claim that the agitation started in front of the BJP office in Dadar wherein the BJP workers showed their presence and opposed this agitation.

Based on accounts, BJP leader Prasad Lad and Congress leader Zeeshan Siddique clashed on the streets with activists. With considerable chaos ensuing in the Dadar East area owing to the agitation, a large police force was also deployed.

Siddique took to Twitter saying, “Today Mumbai Pradesh Youth Congress protested outside the Mumbai BJP office at Dadar against the wrong use of the Pegasus Spyware done by the BJP government.”

Reports alleged that on the one hand, seeing that the Congress workers have come for the agitation, the BJP workers also gathered in large numbers. Additionally, on Friday, the police in riot gear stormed a rally removing hundreds of protesters by truck.
