Amid the speculations of Congress MLA Kalidas Kolambkar joining Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), it has been confirmed that Kolambkar will campaign for BJP and Shiv Sena alliance candidate Rahul Shewale, who is contesting Lok Sabha election from Mumbai South Central constituency.
Kolambkar informed that he is not in touch with Congress candidate Eknath Gaikwad who is contesting LS poll from Mumbai South Central seat. Kolambkar awaits a go-ahead from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to start campaigning for Shiv Sena and BJP alliance candidates.

Kolambkar has been elected as an MLA from Wadala-Naigaon assembly constituency seven times. Kolambkar, a former Shiv Sainik, is a well-known supporter of Narayan Rane. The Congress MLA had left Sena to join the present party.
