Congress President Rahul Gandhi will visit Mumbai on June 12 and the Congress sources told Mumbai Live that Gandhi will appear in Bhiwandi court for a hearing of a case filed against him.

Earlier on March 6, 2014, speaking at a public rally, Rahul Gandhi accused RSS of killing Mahatma Gandhi. Reacting to this, RSS activist Rajesh Kunte filed a defamation case against the Congress president in the Bhiwandi court. The trial for the case is going on in the court and earlier, Rahul Gandhi was asked to appear before the court.

After the hearing, Gandhi will arrive at the Shankhamanand Hall in Mumbai around 3:00 in the afternoon to interact with the Congress workers and office bearers. The discussion shall focus on the upcoming elections in the state and country.

Rahul Gandhi will be meeting the office bearers and will interact with the media too, in Goregaon but the Congress sources have clarified that this meeting might not happen.

With Amit Shah’s visit to Mumbai under his campaign ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ for the upcoming elections, and trying to form an alliance with Shiv Sena, it is important for Congress President to come and interact with the party workers and to plan for the upcoming elections.
