Mumbai Airport Issues Passengers Advisory Amid India-Pak Tensions – Check Details

Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has issued a public advisory urging passengers to check the status of their flights before proceeding to the airport.

The advisory, shared on Wednesday from its official account (@CSMIA_Official), aims to minimise inconvenience to passengers due to possible disruptions in air traffic.

In view of airspace restrictions and closure of certain airports across the country, flight operations may be impacted. We urge passengers to check with their airlines for the latest flight status before travelling to the airport.

A post shared from the official account of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has expressed concerns about ongoing air traffic. In the post, the airport said: "Advice to passengers, due to restrictions on airspace across the country and closure of some airports, air traffic may be affected. Passengers are requested to check with their respective airlines for the status of their flights. We appreciate your cooperation."

The advisory comes after India launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation to the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22. In this operation, Indian armed forces targeted nine identified terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The Indian government released videos of the precision strikes at a high-level press conference attended by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Indian Army officer Sophia Qureshi and IAF Wing Commander Vyomika Singh.

Meanwhile, a bomb threat was received through its hotline at Mumbai's Sahar airport. Specifically targeting an IndiGo flight coming from Chandigarh. After landing, the plane was immediately isolated and thoroughly inspected by security forces.

No explosives or suspicious objects were found and the threat was later confirmed to be false. However, the incident added to security concerns at an already tense time following India's major counter-terrorism operation across the border.
