The Enforcement Directorate appears to be in earnest if its raids on 35 various spots across the Mumbai. On Saturday ED has raided on 300 places of fake companies' across the country.

The ED on Saturday came down heavily on offices that have been on its radar for a while. Among these are some offices helmed by former deputy chief minister of Maharashtra and senior Nationalist Congress Party leader Chhagan Bhujbal. But the bigger news is that another prominent political leader could also be snagged in the ED net this time. Sources tell us that the ED has in its possession sensitive documents that detail this political leader's hefty investments in bogus companies scattered across the state. This leader, who shall right now go unnamed, has along with his sons who are also active in state politics, invested millions and reaped crores in the construction sector and other industries.

Some of these offices fell prey to the ED raids on Saturday. Sources say this leader has invested in a total of 55 bogus companies. Speculation is now rife in political circles that the ED raids are but a measure to clip his wings, now that he is being perceived as a potential threat by many.

Meanwhile, we learn that a Mumbai-based operator has been instrumental in siphoning Rs 46.7 crore for Bhujbal through 20 dummy directors in some companies.

The last word on this episode so far is that the unnamed political leader is likely to approach the government at the Centre to seek help and has initiated talks towards the same.

We are waiting to see how this drama unfolds.
