Formidable challenge for ABS

Formidable challenge for ABS
SHARES

Mumbai - The Akhil Bharatiya Sena (ABS) will face a challenge to retain its two seats from Byculla assembly segment in the BMC elections. Geeta Gawli and Vandana Gawli, two-time corporators, are vying for their third term this time. As there is no indication of support from the Shiv Sena this time around, they will have to face a formidable challenge of maintaining the existence of their party. In the new ward formation, the wards of these ABS corporators have been changed to ward no. 212 and 207. The Gawli family members will fight the BM election from these wards. Both these corporators had got elected first in 2007 and had extended their support to the Shiv Sena. They had also won 2012 elections easily as these wards were given to the RPI candidates. As the political situation has changed now, Gawlis had taken a decision to fight BMC election on the symbol of Shiv Sena. But as Shiv Sena has not given any response to them, the ABS corporators have now vowed to fight these polls on their own. Geeta Gawli will be fighting from ward no. 212 from where Congress corporator Fayyaz Ahmed Khan’s wife, AIMIM and Samajwadi Party candidates will be in the fray. Vandana Gawli will be fighting from ward no. 207 from where NCP women’s wing’s city chief Surekha Pednekar, Shiv Sena shakha pramukh Kaka Chavhan’s wife, Congress and the MNS candidates will be in the fray. It means both the ABS corporators will have to face a tough competition this time.
