Dahisar – Shiv Sena candidate Tejaswini Ghosalkar defeated Sheetal Mhatre, president of women’s wing of city Congress, and proved that Ghosalkar family still holds its sway in Dahisar. Vinod Ghosalkar was defeated in the last assembly election as all the women leaders from different political parties had formed a kind of alliance against him. BJP’s Manisha Chaudhari had defeated the Sena strongman from this assembly segment. This time, the BJP had organized the public meetings of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar in this ward but the party failed to defeat Tejaswini Ghosalkar here.
It is to be mentioned here that Abhishek Ghosalkar had registered a complaint for violation of code of conduct against own party corporator which had attracted severe criticism from the party bosses. Congress candidate Sheetal Mhatre had registered an FIR against the supporters of Ghosalkar and counter complaint from Ghosalkar was also filed here. In all this backdrop, Tejaswini Ghosalkar succeeded in bagging this seat for her party.
