As per the Supreme Court directives, the Hindu Jan Akrosh rally against “cow slaughter, ‘love jihad’ and religious conversions”, that is scheduled in Vashi on February 26, will be videographed. In Mumbai, a similar rally was organised on January 29 which witnessed support in large numbers.


Videography for preventive measures
After Mahatma Gandhi Foundation president Tushar Gandhi sought preventive measures for the rally, Navi Mumbai Commissioner of Police Milind Bharambe announced the decision for video-shooting. Gandhi wrote a letter to Bharambe and requested to follow the apex court’s directives regarding rallies that can cause unrest in the communities.

Shashikant Yadav, a representative of Vishwa Hindu Parishad from Navi Mumbai told Free Press Journal that on February 26 around 3:00 pm all Hindu organisations under the umbrella of Sakal Hindu Samaj will gather at Blue Diamond Chowk in Kopri Vashi and will march towards Shivaji Chowk in Sector 17.

The Supreme Court recently directed the police machinery in Maharashtra to ensure that permission is granted only if there is no hate speech. It has also been directed that videography of the event and videos be made available to the court on the next date.
