Sewri – The outgoing corporators of the Shiv Sena are not ready to leave their fiefdom to others and they want to continue their monopoly on the seat by bagging tickets for their relatives in their place. This is an injustice to the workers who have been taking efforts for spreading party ideology among the masses. They are feeling dejected and hence internal fights may cost the Sena dearly. Such is a condition in Shiv Sena’s pocket borough Sewri where current corporator Shweta Rane has to vacate this seat. Rane is said to be taking all efforts to get a ticket from ward no. 202 though she has not allegedly carried out any developmental works in her previous ward. The same condition is said to be about Sanjay Ambole who has completed third term of his corporatorship and worked as the chairman of the BEST committee. He has been demanding this seat for his wife as his ward no. 203 has been reserved for general category women. The local Sena office-bearers are opposing the ticket to Sachin Padwal and even upshakha pramukh Vijay Mhatre who is said to be a close associate of MLA Ajay Chaudhari. If Mhatre is given a ticket, this seat may go in the kitty of the Congress party, believe some Sena workers.
