Mumbai - Once upon a time, Manohar Joshi had his own clout and followers. But after Bal Thackeray’s death, he was kind of sidelined. But Joshi managed to mark his presence in Uddhav’s reign because of which he is taking efforts to bag candidatures for his two supporters - former mayor Milind Vaidya and Vishakha Raut - in the BMC elections.
Milind Vaidya is likely to contest from ward no. 182 and Vishakha Raut to contest from ward no. 191. Both are Joshi’s supporters. Initially, ward chief Abhay Tamore was decided to contest elections from ward no. 182 but now he is being replaced with Vaidya. Likewise, Deepak Sane’s wife Deepali Sane and shakha sanghatak Aarti Kinare is being replaced by Vishakha Raut who will contest from ward no. 191.
Vishakha will be competing against MNS coprorator Saneep Deshpande’s wife Swapnali Deshpande. When Mumbai Live contacted Vishakha Raut she said that discussions are on but the party has not announced the final verdict yet.
