While addressing a rally in Aurangabad on Wednesday, June 8, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray questioned where the BJP was leading India. He reportedly further added that the entire country was put to shame because of a BJP spokesperson.

Thackeray was quoted in reports elaborating on how a BJP spokesperson insulted the Prophet owing to which Middle East countries came together and brought India to its knees and made it apologise. He asked who brought the condition to us and wondered why India should apologise.

The state CM opined that it was the BJP's fault and not of India, adding, that BJPs' spokesperson cannot be that of the country, therefore, their thoughts cannot be that of the nation.

Moreover, during his rally, Thackeray remarked that instead of attacking a political opponent through central agencies, the Union should fight for the Kashmiri Pandit. He then went on to target the BJP over their Hindutva agenda, questioning its standing to question the Shiv Sena over its Hindutva credentials.

Thackeray elucidated that there many many problems in India such as inflation, and the devaluation of the rupee. But, he believes that the Centre is concerned about seeking Shiv Ling under mosques. He asked who gave BJP the right to question Shiv Sena's Hindutva. Thackeray then dared them to protect the Kashmiri Pandits who are being killed in their homes, schools and workplaces. He claimed that nobody is worried about them.

In his speech, Thackeray commented on BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis's rally against the water crisis in Aurangabad by claiming it was not for the people's welfare in the city, but for losing power. He uttered that if there was anger for the water problem, why didn't they solve it when they were in power for five years and asked why the project was not completed by them.

Further talking about Aurangabad the Shiv Sena leader declared that the state government's agenda was to make Aurangabad a model city with enhanced infrastructure and amenities, with the government curating a metro route for it.

Thackeray then spoke about the demand of renaming the city after Chhatrapati Sambhaji and blamed the Union for not accepting the proposal is sent. He highlighted that it was his father Balasaheb Thackeray who gave the promise and vowed that he would fulfil it. Broaching the subject of his father he voiced that he did not advocate hatred towards Muslims and that the party's Hindutva was nationalism and providing work to people.
