Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis offered his condolences over Fundkar's demise, and recalled Fundkar's contribution to party as well as farmers.

Agriculture Minister of Maharashtra, Pandurang Fundkar breathed his last on Thursday at around 4:35 am. As per the officials, the late minister suffered a heart attack in Mumbai.

The 67-year old senior BJP leader served as MP for three terms and was a former president of the party unit in Maharashtra. He was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1989 and represented Akola till 1998.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis offered his condolences over Fundkar's demise, and recalled Fundkar's contribution to party as well as farmers.

"Saddened and shocking to know about demise of Fundkar. He was a senior colleague in the cabinet and a senior leader who has deep knowledge about agriculture and cooperative sector. We lost our senior colleague," said Fadnavis.

Fundkar was sworn as the Cabinet Minister in Fadnavis government on July 8, 2016.
