A few days ago, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari wrote a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray alleging that Shiv Sena MPs were obstructing road construction in the state. Speaking at the inauguration function of Nagpur Metro Station, the Chief Minister assured Gadkari that he wouldn’t allow anyone to interfere in the development work of the people.
In his speech, Uddhav Thackeray said, “Nitinji you speak with love, but you wrote the letter harshly”. "Your relationship with us is a little different. You work hard, so do we. We believe in the teaching of the Shiv Sena chief, thus we never want the people to be betrayed. The work of the people shouldn’t be hindered. Whilst I have mentioned your letter lightly, I assure you that I will not allow anyone to interfere in the development work of the people in any way", the Chief Minister assured Gadkari.
A few days ago, Nitin Gadkari had written a letter to the Chief Minister. In this letter, he had given a warning that road works would be stopped due to Shiv Sena’s illegal work and terror. In the letter, he mentioned that the road works in Washim district were mainly opposed by local Shiv Sena MLAs and MPs.
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned a large number of projects on National Highways in Maharashtra. Many of these projects have been completed and some are in progress. However, Gadkari noticed that local people’s representatives are causing hindrances in many projects. He believes that these representatives have gone to great lengths to harass the officials and contractors with various kinds of unregulated demands and threatened to stop the work by inciting the workers if they don’t listen to them. This was especially the case in Washim district, he said.
