Union Minister Narayan Rane commenced his Jan Ashirwad Yatra, in which he visited Shivaji Park to pay homage at the memorial of late Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray. However, after this, in the evening, some Shiv Sena party workers were seen purifying the memorial.
After Narayan Rane visited the memorial of Balasaheb Thackeray, Shiv Sena workers sprinkled cow urine which is considered holy, on his memorial and anointed him with milk. Rane who visited the memorial in the afternoon made the area unclean, claimed the Shiv Sena workers.
Appa Patil, the caretaker of the memorial, performed the purification. After cleaning the memorial, he said that today the structure has become impure, thus purification is done by anointing with milk. The leader’s frame was washed with water and anointed with milk after which his favourite flowers were flown.
Taking about Rane, Patil is said to have stated that Rane saw the Shiv Sena today, after leaving the party, in all these years he did not see Balasaheb. He was also talking about Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray who is amongst the top five in the country. We Shiv Sena workers are loyal to the Thackeray family, thus can’t stand this which is why we have done this purification, he said.
With these recent occurrences, it seems like a new political controversy is brewing.
