On Wednesday, February 23, Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader, Nawab Malik arrived at the Enforcement Directorate's office in Mumbai, reports stated. He was reportedly summoned by the body in connection with a property with alleged links to the underworld. Presently, questioning is underway.
According to accounts, the ED team arrived at Malik's residence early Wednesday morning and later took him with them to their office. The office of Nawab Malik took to Twitter saying, "Today morning the ED had come to @nawabmalikncp saheb's residence. They accompanied saheb in his vehicle to the ED office. Based on narratives, the ED is questioning Malik regarding the money laundering case against underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his aides. It has been claimed that Malik was picked up from his house at 7 am on Wednesday and is being questioned since 8 am.
Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut responded to these happenings and while interacting with media persons elaborated on how Malik is a senior leader and state cabinet minister. Raut believes that the way in which Malik was taken from his home by ED is a challenge to the state government. He reportedly stated that after 2024 the opposition will be probed as well.
Moreover, NCP Minister Supriya Sule as well told the media that for many days BJP's people were tweeting that an ED notice will come against Malik and the MVA government. She added that the body took him to their office without any notice and thus questioned the politics they have commenced. Sule is of the opinion that this is an insult to the state.
Similarly, state NCP chief Jayant Patil also told the media that Malik was taken to the ED office for questioning without earlier information. Patil added that since Malik exposed BJP leaders in the last few days, revenge is now being taken.
