In a recently held meeting, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has assured that positive steps will be taken for the economic development of the Dhangar community. He further stated that their demands will be considered and legal experts and various stakeholders will be consulted for consultation regarding the reservation.

The delegation had approached Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, regarding the same at the Sahyadri State Guest House.

Besides them, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Vadettiwar, Transport Minister Adv. Anil Parab, Minister of State for Soil and Water Conservation Dattatraya Bharne, MP Anil Desai, Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashish Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary to the Finance Department Rajgopal Deora were also present at the meeting. 

Addressing their concerns, Uddhav Thackeray said that the demand for reservation of Dhangar community is one of the subjects to be looked into, and the government will do the best possible their concerns, by taking the right steps. Matters regarding the same will be discussed with the legal experts and various stakeholders, with an aim to avoid obstacles in the proposed reservation. The team will ensure regular coordination and follow up of this issue, and efforts will also be put to prepare financial provision of schemes for the development of the society.

Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Vadettiwar added his statements and said that the demand for reservation of Dhangar community would be followed up at various levels.

Discussions regarding the reservation and various demands were initiated by MLA Prakash Shendge, former minister Anna Dange, Ramesh Shendge, MP Vikas Mahatme, Ramrao Wadkute, former MLA Anil Gote, Ganesh Hake, Subhash Khemnar, Ujjwalatai Hake and others.
