Security has been significantly strengthened at Maharashtra Chief Minister's official residence, Varsha, and at the Mantralaya following a statewide security alert issued by the police, as per the report by Loksatta.
The heightened vigil comes in the wake of recent developments in Delhi, prompting authorities to increase precautionary measures across Maharashtra. Additional police personnel have been deployed at key government installations, while security checks have been intensified at sensitive locations.
Officials said that the enhanced security arrangements are preventive in nature and are aimed at ensuring public safety. Police have also directed field units across the state to remain on high alert, monitor suspicious activities, and maintain strict surveillance at important public and government premises.
Senior police officials are continuously reviewing the security situation, and coordination has been strengthened among various law enforcement agencies to respond swiftly to any potential threat.
Authorities have appealed to citizens to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel, and immediately report any suspicious objects or activities to the nearest police station or emergency helpline.
The increased security deployment will remain in place until further instructions are issued by the state administration.
