Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra, all the political parties are inviting their star campaigners for the state assembly polls which are scheduled on October 21. 

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will address an election rally in Mumbai on October 13. Gandhi will remain in Maharashtra till October 15.

This will be Gandhi’s first campaign programme in Maharashtra after his visit to Bangkok. Mumbai Congress informed that Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Dharavi on Sunday evening. 

Gandhi will campaign for Congress secretary Varsha Gaikwad, daughter of party’s Mumbai unit Eknath Gaikwad, who is contesting the assembly elections from Dharavi seat. Varsha Gaikwad is a three-time MLA from Dharavi constituency.

Congress is contesting on 31 seats in Mumbai while its ally Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has fielded its candidates on five seats. In Maharashtra, Congress has listed 146 candidates and NCP will contest on 117 seats. Moreover, the remaining seats are left for smaller alliance.
